I recently got a sewing machine and first thing I did was to line up some of my crocheted bags. Once done, I wanted to move on to make something wearable. I picked up a Simplicity pattern from Walmart. I wanted it to be very simple pattern, so I went for a very basic simple one. Then I bought this fabric on sale. It was perfect for practice.
The apron is little bit shorter than I had imagined. I should pay more attention next time. After cutting the fabric, I realized the width was too small, so I attached small pieces to both sides. I still have to practice a lot to sew in straight line. I learned gathering stitches with this pattern :).
