Woman’s vest

So I am finally into knitting :) . I have been knitting almost all my free time these days. I joined a knitting class 2 months ago. As my first project, I picked up this simple woman’s vest. Its not perfect, but I am proud of it. Finally I can knit. Yayyy!!!!. It has come out bigger than instructed even though I followed the pattern. Anyway, will try to sew the ends and get it to fit me.

Below is the final product which fits me well. I made a small flower(Thanks Nupur for the link) and stitched it to front to cover up a small hole which showed up while picking up stitches for neck. Not sure if anyone does that, I just like it.

Truly impressive work here..From the crochet work to the knitting, loved them all..I find knitting too tough, had learnt the basic stitch back in school, but can never understnd those joins and other things..Seriously, do u ever get tired ?? Also, would love to see the face beyond the sweater and all this great work too :) ..

    Wow Shilpa!!!,
Name one hobby which you are not into!!!
Lovely vest!! Shilpa now you must post a picture of you and Aayi.
Where do get all the energy from?
I was hoping you would come to the Konkani Sammelan in CA in July 2008.
I could get a chance to meet you.
The other day I went to Michael’s and they were advertising their Wilton cake decorating classes and I remembered you (well with my figment of imagination).

    Hi Shilpa,

This is a great website and kudos to you for your multi talents. I would really appreciate if you could give me information as to where did you learn knitting from ? Do micheals or crafts shops offer these classes ? how can i find where these classes are offered ?

Shilpa: Preethi, as far as I know, Micheals has stopped all kinds of classes these days. So you will have to find out other stores in your place. Just searching for knitting studios near your place. Usually these have classes too. I searched for the same in google when I was searching for them.
