Riverside serenity
This is the first ever painting I have done on my own without any help. I wanted to paint a scene from my native place in India. So I decided to give it a try. I know I have a lot to improve. But this is a start.

The inspiration for this painting is a photo taken by my brother

Oh my God Shilpa,
You are such a creative and talented person..Cooking, baking, crochet, mehendi, painting and blogging..Do you ever sleep?
Fantastic! Keep going girl.
You are really inspiring me
Love ya
Shilpa, you have a great flair for cooking and art … ever tried glass paintings ?? do you know if we would get relevant materials for the same in US ?
Shilpa: Gayatri, I haven’t yet tried glass painting. But it is on my next to-do list. Micheals, Joann and Hobby Lobby has the materials for the same. Micheals even has classes for this kind of painting. Please check for online coupons for Hobby Lobby. Micheals/Joanns coupons are usually available in local Sunday newspapers. The materials are very expensive here, so these coupons help a bit. I will post more when I try my hands on them.
Hi Gayatri,
‘Micheals Arts and Crafts’ and Joans are the very good stores for all kinds of arts. Joans also has sewing materials and fabrics.
Hi Shilpa,
Just happened to visit ur artcampus through another site..Lovely works…ur metal embossing work is good for a beginner. I too have been trying to learn about it. Maybe once u master the art u could do a post on the tools needed and how to do it.That would be a favour.
Thanks and regards
Deepa
Great work Shilpa, you are expert cook and great artist in making, truly inspiring. Will keep visiting your site for more receipes.
Hello Shilpa..
I am really inspired by your enthusiasm, I too work..but i never find time to complete any of the hobby stuff i start off.
How is it that u find time..hopefully i will some day find some time and come up with beautiful work like you.
I also am in bangalore…hope to find a reply from you.
-lakshmi.
Hi Shilpa,
All your paintings are mindblowing! You are such an inspiration! I am really in awe of how you manage pursuing all your hobbies and even getting down to writing everything you do with such details for the rest of the world to enjoy too! Seriously, I do have this question for you – how do you manage taking time out for all this when you are working too? I gather that you are working in sortware industry.
Hoping to get a reply to that.
Cheers,
Smita
Shilpa: Thanks for kind words Smitha. There are few things which help me do all these – first I love crafts. It was my wish from a long time to learn them. So when I saw the classes here for painting, cake decorating, knitting etc, I got very much interested. The classes are conducted in a store which is next to my home (I have to change that to ‘were’ because they have stopped the classes now). Second is my office hours are pretty good now. Office is very close to home so I save lot of commuting time and we don’t have much pressure. I can be home by 5-6. So I get the rest of the day off. It all depends on workload. Third, staying away from family, sometimes I get very bored and homesick. This is a way to use the time constructively.
