Purple Splendor
Painted on Jan 20 – 2008 – After the painting was finished, we sprinkled some glitter on it to show snow. So this looks shiny(I could not capture that in picture).

This time, along with the normal size(16 X 20 in above picture), I also painted a small one of 8 X 10, just for fun. I have done this before for 2 other paintings(forgot to take pictures). Its a lot of fun to make these tiny ones. I usually frame them and carry these to office. Even though every small detail cannot be easily worked on these, they kind of look cute.

. I will be more than happy to get a buddy in this…
Shilpa, the paintings are simply awesome., especially the one in your earlier post..I used to do oil painting once…in fact, just yesterday, I was talking about it with Dinesh…haven’t touched the brush or a long, long time. But I’m so glad that you’re pursuing your passion…wish you all the best…looking forward to many more wonderful creations.
Shilpa: Thanks Sunita. You should start again. We would love to see your paintings.
Wonderful..I can see the snow! purple haze in the b’g is way too good.
Absolutely wonderful painting Shilpa..It looks heavenly..Btw, just for me to get an idea, how long does it take you to finish something like this ?..
Shilpa: Maya, its pretty fast. Our workshops are usually from 11.30 to 4. Since there will be many students, we have to take breaks till everyone catches up. If you try them on your own, they may take max 2hrs. If you are interested, check out in your nearby Micheals. These classes are loads of fun. I wish you were somewhere near.
Yes, I did check in Michael’s long back, but never joined any. But now you are inspiring me a lot. I do sketching, but am nervous with colors..Will try and take up some classes soon. I wish you were nearby too
..Thanx Shilpa…
Wow it is superb. No words to describe.
Just awesome!!!
Hi Shilpa,
I found my way to your art via your cooking blog. You are multi-talented……not only a fabulous cook but also an excellent craftsperson and artist. I like the effect you achieved with this piece. I look forward to seeing more your work. Seeing all your knitting and crochet projects makes me yearn to get back to those handcrafts myself…..it’s been a long time since I have done either.
Peace,
Serena
